How savvy?

I need to know if I chat with someone online using a program run from a flash drive if a record of said conversation would be left on the computer that said flash drive was temporarily inserted into. I may have asked you this before.

If you don't install the program on the local disk, there shouldn't be, because most of those programs write to their own directory. If you wanted to make sure you could check the program settings run from the flash drive on any computer and see where (if anywhere) it writes to by default.

There would probably be a log of that program being run, in case I have misread you.

I've never heard of a chat program keeping a log of the conversation unless you specifically ask it to.

You could run a Disk Cleanup of the main hard drive just in case, and that should get rid of any leftover bits that might be in the Temp folder.
